Yo-yo dieting is physically and emotionally unhealthy
Yet so many of us women fall into a yo-yo dieting cycle at an early age.
It sounds like an easy way to lose extra pounds.
However, over the years, this practice weakens our metabolism and makes it more and more difficult to lose the few extra pounds.
A Heart disease factor
“A new study found that women who lost at least 10 pounds, but then put that weight back on within a year, were more likely to have risk factors for heart disease. The more times someone went on a yo-yo diet, the worse their heart health.”Yo-yo Dieting Can Take a Toll on Your Heart
What can you do to stop yo-yo dieting?
Well, the first question to ask is why do we gain weight in the first place?
From the perspective of Ayurveda, weight gain is a symptom of a build-up of toxins, waste and impurities due to faulty digestion and an imbalanced lifestyle.
As a result of low metabolism and erratic lifestyle habits, our body produces more waste than it’s able to get rid of.
What causes the body’s metabolism to decrease?
Faulty digestion says Ayurvedic Medicine.
There are 3 factors that causes digestive dysfunction:
#1: Eating foods that are heavy to digest
#2: Improper eating habits
#3: Irregular lifestyle habits, such as lack of sleep, inability to manage stress, over or under-exercising, to name just a few.
